28 Years, 28 Lessons

1. You only get one childhood, one adulthood, one parenthood, one elder-hood.

That dream you have? The time is now.

2. Finding romance in the little things makes every day a special occasion.

Find the little life miracles - embody them, embrace them, ritualize them, thoroughly enjoy them.

3. Trust the re-route.

Every experience we have, good or bad, is an experience. It brings clarity, it brings growth, it brings perspective and it brings the opportunity for life long learning. And often, the pivot is the highlighted path.

4. When something is meant for you, you are met with inner peace.

When something is not meant for you, you will experience inner chaos and confusion. Learn how to recognize these sensations within yourself.

5. Be the voice.

Everyone needs someone. Helping another discover their voice is one of the most monumental ways you can show up for another soul.

6. You cannot overcome what you aren't willing to confront.

Avoidance may provide temporary relief but in the long run, avoidance breeds stress, lack of resolution, decreased self-esteem and missed opportunities. Confront, accept and move forward.

7. Living a life of raw authenticity and honesty is living a life of alignment.

When we are honest with ourselves and others, we are more likely to make choices and decisions that align with our values, goals, and aspirations. We find clarity, we experience integrity and we develop our self-awareness.

8. Self-celebration is a necessity.

By taking the time to recognize our own achievements and positive attributes, we can improve our self-esteem, boost our confidence, and develop a more positive self-image. Humble self-confidence is such a flex.

9. Who did I help? What did I learn?

Two essential questions to always fall back on and reflect upon to support personal development.

10. You are entirely up to you.

Really, truly. Bet on yourself.

11. Making others to feel seen is a superpower.

The power of a listening ear and being seen through another's eyes is one of the most sacred gifts we can give. Be that source of safety and hope - you'll be amazed at how fruitful your human connections become.

12. Together, as humans, we occupy intrinsic propensities for goodness.

Each of us holds the capacity for goodness. It is our life mission to discover how this goodness will translate into our life story.

13. Send me music so I know it's real.

Every person is their own human, with their own set of experiences, contexts, memories, aspirations and joys. Develop a deep, deep love for learning about the intricacies of the humans in your life. Music isn't your thing? Send me books, podcasts, photos, audio messages. Send me what lights you up.

14. Your mind will believe everything you tell it.

Fuel it with compassion, self-acceptance, worth and unconditional love.

15. Knowledge is not power. Applied knowledge is power.

Knowledge is only useful when it is put into practice. It's not enough to simply possess knowledge; the true power comes from being able to use that knowledge effectively.

16. Discipline yields freedom.

What you do with quality effort, consistently, compounds. Freedom lies in living your life on your terms and freedom is grounded in consistent, disciplined action.

17. There are people who adore the sky, no matter the weather.

You have the choice to find the silver linings. You have the choice of optimism. This energy is intoxicating - just watch what you attract into your life.

18. Every difficulty situation I've experienced has opened the doors to exceptional opportunity.

Often, the most transformative moments are connected to the most raw and real emotions of our human experience.

19. You are one decision away from "un-stuckness".

Feeling "stuck" in life is a choice of complacency, often subconscious, because we are fearful of the unknown. What is the worst that could happen? What is the best that could happen? What if it does?

20. What we allow into our lives is our responsibility. How we respond to the world around us is our responsibility.

When we take responsibility over our circumstances, we assume the driver's seat in the creation of our lives.

21. Wisdom is healed pain.

Healing past pain points grants us a unique perspective in insight and wisdom. This wisdom navigates us through future challenges. Life is basically a game of joys, hardships, learning opportunities and evolution.

22. Never stop dating.

Apply this to yourself, your partner, your passions, your life.

23. Seven billion people experienced today in a different way.

You can learn something from EVERY person you encounter - that is the power of human connection.

24. I'm a firm believer that peanut butter makes everything better. Stand up for what you believe in.

All kidding aside, your beliefs are core to who you are. Those little life miracles that make you squirm with happiness? Embrace the shit outta them.

25. Be who you needed when you were younger.

Only you walked in your shoes and know the trials and tribulations faced. And only you know how to rise above these hardships. I believe in paying lessons forward, and what are we the most knowledgable about? Ourselves and our story.

26. The promises you make to yourself are the most important.

Consistently keeping promises to ourselves translates into trust, self-respect and accountability. If we cannot show up consistently for ourselves, we cannot show up fully for others.

27. Be a life enthusiast.

No matter what happened yesterday, today is a new day, the sun has risen over the horizon, you are alive. Support your local sunrise, take in what is, pause, breathe and take one step forward.

28. The love of your life is right in front of your eyes.

You are the love of your life. You have the potential to love on yourself more than anyone else can. What a powerful daily affirmation.
